Dreamers and Dream-helpers

The world moves on the backs of two groups of special people: dreamers and dream-helpers. Dreamers come up with these impossible-smelling tasks wrapped in dark papers of craziness. They want to do things others run away from. Unfortunately at times they fail, but never quit.

Over the years I have observed dreamers and learnt there is something special about them. Often all they have is the dream. Many times they cannot see how the dream can be accomplished. They never have the resources to fuel the dream, and sometimes they can barely explain the dream. However somewhere along the line, they possess this uncanny ability to see pass potential obstacles to the realization of the dream.

Dreamers however have one serious handicap: they cannot make the dream come true without solid support. That is where the second group comes in. Dreamers need dream-helpers.

Dream-helpers are usually persons who can lock into a dream, even when they see the complexity and difficulty of the dream. Dream-helpers talk in strange-language. They may say something like,"this thing sounds like madness, I don't see how you could do that, but if you are willing to go for it, I am willing to help".

Dream-helpers most sacred asset is commitment. When a dream-helper locks into a dream, he/she is locked in. Heat-seeking missiles have nothing on them.

Over the years I have observed that dream-helpers cross every social divide. Some are not highly (college) educated; others have solid college degrees. They are dream-helpers who are very poor, i'e one level below poor, yet they bring a rich attitude to projects. In those dark lonely days in the trenches, these dream-helpers pull the team through with encouragement, donuts, and cheap sodas. Thanks be to God there have counterparts: dream-helpers who God have blessed so they can be a blessing to dreamers,(2 Corth.9:8).

Which class are you: dreamer or dream-helper?

If you are a dreamer with a big dream in your bossom, share it with us. Maybe now is the time to gather your dream-helpers and get moving. Surely the next stage for your dream is to give it structure. A dream without structure is just a sleep-hangover.

But it is possible you are a dream-helper, just waiting for a dream to lock on to. We have good news for you.

There is a dream (Nassau Initiative ILOMM) to deeply touch the lives of one million men around the world, to give them a hope and a better future. The hope and future we give these men will automatically improve the future for those around them, their spouses, children, and communities. Most of these men will become members of churches, some may not. These men will bring proof to the Scriptures which says nothing shall be impossible with God. In this dream there is a visible out-working of the famous quote, "greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world".

If you can see this vision and see yourself locking into it, you are a bone fide dream-helper.

What says you: dreamer, then let that dream out, we will help you; dream-helper then help us with Nassau Initiative ILOMM.
